On-Premises Oracle to Cloud Migration

Move your Oracle databases to AWS, Azure, or OCI with minimal downtime and full performance validation. Whether you need a fast lift-and-shift or a cloud-native re-architecture, we scope the right approach for your environment.

What We Cover

Six capabilities, one migration team

Every cloud migration engagement draws on the same core capabilities — scoped to your environment, executed in the right sequence, and validated before each phase ends.

Capability 01
Cloud Readiness Assessment

Inventory your Oracle estate — schemas, packages, jobs, linked servers, dependencies — and score readiness for each target cloud. Blockers identified before any migration begins.

Capability 02
Architecture & Sizing

Right-size your target cloud environment against real AWR and Statspack baselines — not guesswork. Storage, compute, and I/O designed before you commit to a cloud resource.

Capability 03
Lift-and-Shift Migration

Replicate your on-premises Oracle database to a cloud VM or managed instance with minimal application change. RMAN, Oracle Data Guard, and AWS DMS all in play depending on your version and target.

Capability 04
Cloud-Native Re-architecture

Redesign workloads to use managed database services — AWS RDS for Oracle, Azure Database, OCI ExaDB. Partitioning, connection pooling, and HA patterns rebuilt for cloud-native resilience.

Capability 05
Network & Security Configuration

VPC, subnet, and security group configuration aligned to your compliance requirements. Encryption at rest and in transit, IAM roles, and audit logging set up before the first data moves.

Capability 06
Post-Migration Optimisation

AWR baseline comparison, query plan regression investigation, and cost-optimisation review in the weeks after cutover. Performance targets agreed before go-live; we stay until they're met.

How We Work

Assessment first — always.
No migration runs before readiness is confirmed.

Every engagement begins with a structured Cloud Readiness Assessment: we analyse your Oracle estate, profile real workloads from AWR and Statspack data, and map every object to its cloud equivalent before a single byte moves. This prevents the surprises that stall migrations mid-flight.

For lift-and-shift projects, we use Oracle GoldenGate, RMAN, and Oracle Data Guard to replicate data to the cloud target and keep it in sync until cutover — giving you a tested fallback at every stage. For cloud-native re-architecture, we work with your application team to redesign HA, failover, and connection patterns at the same time as the database is moved.

Post-migration, we run a 30-day performance validation against the AWR baseline captured on-premises. If query plans regress or throughput falls short, we investigate and remediate before handing over to your team.

Our Migration Process

Four phases from on-premises to cloud

A structured sequence prevents mid-migration surprises. Each phase ends with a sign-off — no phase begins until the previous one is confirmed.

Step 01
Cloud Readiness & Assessment

AWR workload profiling, object inventory, dependency mapping. Blockers, risks, and the recommended migration approach documented before any work begins.

Step 02
Migration Architecture Design

Cloud environment design: compute sizing, storage IOPS, network topology, HA and DR configuration. Approved by your team before cloud resources are provisioned.

Step 03
Staged Cloud Migration

Data replicated to cloud target using GoldenGate, RMAN, or DMS. Kept in sync with source until cutover is confirmed. Staged rollout with smoke tests at each stage.

Step 04
Validation, Optimisation & Handover

30-day post-migration performance validation against on-premises AWR baseline. Query regression investigation, cost-optimisation review, and formal knowledge transfer before handover.

Tech & Tools

What we use to move your database

Our migrations draw on the right combination of cloud-native migration services and Oracle-native replication tooling — selected to fit your Oracle version, data volume, and downtime tolerance.
